His American television roles include HBO’s Deadwood, Babylon 5, The Naked Truth, Dallas, Miami Vice, War and Remembrance, Evergreen, and Jesus of Nazareth. He also appeared in several moviesof- the-week, including Chain Letter, Columbo, Perry Mason, Roots, Murders in the Rue Morgue, and The Letter.

On stage, McShane starred as Daryl Van Horne in the West End production of “The Witches of Eastwick.” Other theatrical productions include “The Admirable Crichton,” “Loot,” “The Easter Man,” “The Glass Menagerie,” and “The Promise.”
