An elite Swedish military squadron has to retrieve a stolen
Russian nuclear missile that has fallen into the hands of Libyan terrorists.
The fifth film in a series based on the best-selling novels
of Scandinavian author Jan Guillou, Hamilton follows the exploits of Swedish
super-agent Carl Hamilton and stars Mark Hamill as the villain. The CIA
discovers a stolen missile being routed through the Arctic by Russian
rebels. Since they plan to smuggle it into Sweden, the Swedish secret
service is called in. After Hamilton (Peter Stormare) and his men kill
the smugglers, Hamilton realizes it was a set-up, since another missile
went into Sweden. He follows the trail to Murmansk where he meets ex-CIA
operative Mike Hawkins (Hamill) - and the search continues in Stockholm,
and Washington, before the final confrontation in Libya. This 127-minute
feature was trimmed down from a four-part TV miniseries.

HAMILTON
by
JAN GUILLOU
After the success of VENDETTA the production company Moviola has acquired
the rights to continue to produce the adventures of Admiral Carl Hamilton.
The production of HAMILTON runs from August 1996 until December 1997.
The
filming is scheduled to take place in Murmansk and Moscow in Russia, in
Kiruna and Stockholm in Sweden and in the Moroccan deserts in northen
Africa.
The film is produced by Moviola Film & Television in co-operation
with
Swedish TV4 and the distributor Buena Vista. Peter Stormare is the next

Spielberg's "The Lost World" and he is the Coen brothers "Fargo"
and their
next film "The great Lebinski". He has just finished a TV-film
directed by
Ingmar Bergman. Director is Norwegian Harald Zwart. This is his debute
as
feature film director. In spite of his young age he is very experienced
as
director of commercials and TV films and the expectations of his first
feature are very big. HAMILTON is based on two novels, THE ONLY VICTORY
and
NO MANS LAND. The novels are the seventh and the eighth in a series of
ten
novels about the military undercover agent Carl Hamilton. The novels is
the
biggest literary event in Sweden in recent years. The books have sold
in
very large numbers, over four million copies in Sweden alone and have
been
translated to several languages. Four of the other books have been filmed,
all four commercially very succesful and equally well received by the
critics.
